Paupau's has been my go to for Chinese food. If you don't live here it's a hidden jem with cooked to order and fast service and low $$ for everything compared to the downtown Coeur d'Alene tourist restaurants. Definitely suggest you try.

Tiny place. Not very well known but WOW! The Kung Pow chicken is amazing and they are really fun and friendly.

Plastic wrapper material in my brocolli beef. Almond chicken was KFC leftover . 25 bucks. Never again.

Cash or check only. They claim a 24 year history. Must return with cash.

I have been coming here for years and have yet to eat something I didn't like :) Love this place ! They make me feel like Norm walking into Cheer . My favorite to order is number C with chicken and side of Shrimp (8)

Have no idea why anyone would consider the plate sizing small?! This is exactly what I have to expect from a chinese restaurant in the US. Good food. Friendly owners/staff. Just make sure you come with cash or your check book! No debit/credit cards accepted!

I absolutely love this Chinese food. The owners are so sweet and amazing people. The food is also very very good and reasonably priced. I like eating here for late lunches because the price is just right and is so much better than Panda Express chinese food. I would definitely recommend!

Cleanest Chinese restaurant you've ever been in and I have seen the kitchen. Everything cooked to order, soooooo fresh and good.

As a traveler passing through town I have to say my expectations were not high for a hole in the wall, mom and pop, Chinese food place in Hayden, ID and they didn't disappoint. The food was ok, actually a little better then I had expected. It was a popular, busy place with the locals with four people waiting on take-out orders and half of the tables full when I arrived. If you are not expecting much beyond basic, a little bland Chinese then you will not be dissatisfied. Anything more and I would recommend someplace else. Very polite and friendly staff who were only two ladies that I saw working their tails off.

Such great food.. fresh, fast, efficent staff..I took mine to go and live in Spokane.. after a few stops ,got home and it was still so delicious. I like the gravy for the almond chicken was in a side container so it wasnt mushy..also the pork the sauce on the side..the chicken was so nice and truly a chicken breast no fatty at all..so highly recommended this cute little place 🙂prices are excellent..inside dining aslo..

This is the only Chinese restaurant in the entire are as far as I am concerned.

I think we had to have been way overcharged, or their prices are astronomical. Our food tasted decent but it was almost all filler (mostly onions) and barely any meat. We were really unimpressed for the price (or possible dishonesty?).

The BEST Chinese food in the whole NW!!! I love chicken chow mein like they make it back east, with hard noodles and if I ask them for it they make it that way for me!!! I love the owners, they are the nicest people in the world!!! You can't go wrong eating at Paupau's, they are the BEST!!!

Good food like seriously yummy. Cash only but worth it. Workers do what they can to make sure your food is amazing. It may be a " hole in the wall" place but most of the great places are.

Absolute the best Chinese food around. Great portions, red hot food an awesome selection. Bring your checkbook or cash because they don't take cards. Don't be surprised if the parking lot doesn't look full Because there's always 2 different customers waiting at the counter for to go food. Kind and friendly service.

We've liked PauPau's for 20 years. They're convenient, consistent, and great service. The food isn't gourmet, but is pretty decent overall.

I enjoyed the Szechuan Beef, potstickers, and spring roll. Great quality and delicious. Five stars for sure!

Great food, prepared fresh, nothing prepared in advance but prepared to order. It was delicious, the wait staff was friendly and helpful, and it looked attractive on the plate when they served it. Sll in all, a five-star experience. Best of all, the food was very reasonably priced.

I love this place, best Chinese in CDA/Hayden area. It's a little hole in the wall joint, but amazing food and customer service. Family friendly and family owned. The only thing, make sure you have cash or a checkbook, they don't take card.

This is probably the best Chinese food in the area. I haven't done an exhaustive study. The food was good and the value was excellent. It's cash only so be prepared and you'll have a happy experience. Anyone that travels a lot for work like I do will note that compared to what you find in most cities this place is probably above average.

WOW!!!! Ordered takeout for the first time. Everything was so fresh and beautifully cooked. Hubby and I ordered 2 combination plates and 1 side. We had enough food for 2 meals! This is by far the best Chinese food in the area!

I did a quick google search for great Chinese food near me and this was the top regulator so I stoped in an ordered sesame chicken, kung pao chicken, and chicken fried noodles to see what was good. The seasame chicken was soggy and the other two where WAY to salty. I tried to give them to my roommate but she couldn’t handle the saltyness. Ended up throwing away over $20 worth of food.

Average asian food but plentiful. Service was very courteous. No inside dining but i went in to pick up my order and could see the kitchen. Clean and all staff wearing masks and gloves. I was impressed with the cleanliness.

Friendly, no frills, family owned gem. Generous portion size, especially for lunch. Best tofu broccoli... veggies always perfectly steamed, bountiful tofu pieces and delectable brown sauce. No MSG. Cash only.
